Like all Shift Psychologists, Julie is trained in the Shift Protocol, which is the highly effective blending of two well-researched approaches: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Bi-Lateral Stimulation (BLS). Julie works mostly with adults.

What is your name/nicknames?

Most of my friends and family call me by my full name, Julie. A few people call me Jules!

What do you do at Shift?

I am a Coach currently awaiting my Registered Provisional Psychologist status, and I work at the Edmonton South location.

What are your academic credentials?

I have my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Lethbridge. As well, I completed my Master of Counselling in Counselling Psychology at Athabasca University.

Do you have any pets?

I have an American Staffordshire named Frank the Tank. He loves cuddles and getting attention from everyone!

Specialty Populations/Issues:

My specialty areas include working with individuals from marginalized groups and vulnerable populations. I use a strength-based approach to support individuals with their needs, in areas such as self-esteem, self-worth, trauma, emotional regulation and addictions.

What is your favourite food?

Tacos and pizza!

What is a skill you are working on currently?

One of my hobbies is garment sewing. I find learning about patterns and how to make clothes so fascinating.

What do you do in your spare time?

Snowboarding, reading, yoga, sewing, spending time with friends and family.

What is your dream car?

Just something that is reliable enough for a good road trip!
