Like all Shift Psychologists, Stefanie is trained in the Shift Protocol, which is the highly effective blending of two well-research approaches: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Bi-Lateral Stimulation (BLS).

What is your name/nicknames?

Just Stef – nothing too inventive!

What do you do at Shift?

I’m a Registered Psychologist at Shift Mount Royal and truly love working with people and helping them grow through the difficult times in life.

What are your academic credentials?

I originally have an undergrad in international business! After working for a few years, I decided to go back to school and I completed a Master’s in Counselling Psychology at McGill University.

Do you have any pets?

I’m just a plant mom for now, but I would love to have a dog someday (if my allergies ever permit!).

Specialty Populations/Issues:

My speciality areas include helping individuals with family of origin and identity concerns. I also specialize in working with adults with concerns surrounding depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem, and self-harm. I also enjoy working with university populations who are seeking direction in their careers.

What is your favourite food?

I’d have to say making homemade pizza with my partner. It’s the best!

What is a skill you are working on currently?

Learning to be kinder to myself and also how to host a good dinner party!

What do you do in your spare time?

I love going to the mountains and I try to hike once a week in the summer. I also enjoy yoga and dancing like no one’s watching!

What is your dream car?

Anything that goes fast. But I would never drive it too fast, of course.

What is your go-to for a good laugh?

Silly TV shows, especially The Mindy Project.
